Porsche Club BBQ August 2008

17th August 2008 was the date that the second Porsche Club GB Kent Region summer BBQ took place at 911Box.

The ex-Richard Westbrook 2007 Supercup car took centre stage in the main showroom complete with 911Box decals. This car, which had been converted back to Porsche Carrera Cup Specifications, took part in selected Carrera Cup races for the rest of the 2008 season and also took part in several of the international 24 hour endurance races.

Special guest for the afternoon was Geoff Pretty from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). Geoff had a busy afternoon explaining the work of the IAM to region members. Geoff also gave a presentation about the IAM and the assessment packages available.

Throughout the afternoon a wonderful selection of food was provided by Chef Bruno, whilst there was time to relax in the sun or browse the selection of Porsche Design accessories or Racing Memorabilia provided by Alex Reade Motor Sport.

The afternoon was rounded off with a prize draw to win an IAM ‘Skill for life’ package. Congratulations go to Trevor Smith whose name was picked out of the hat by Geoff Pretty.
